Air & Space
Last weekend we took the boys to the Air & Space museum in Dulles.
Our little engineer enjoyed viewing the engines more than the actual airplanes and AJ took a nice long stroll around the hanger - making friends with everyone he ran into (literally).
We only lasted a short period before both kids went crazy and started wresting in the middle of all the action.

And of course, it wouldn't be a Sinclair outing with at least one public meltdown.

Don't Let the Bed Buds Bite!
I'd like to say this was Ben's first sleep over, but this was taken at 4 o'clock today. Owen wanted to show Ben his new 'big boy bed' and Ben took it upon himself to cozy up and close his eyes! Could the transition be coming soon for Ben as well??

There is something about Andrew
Yes, Andrew is is a peculiar type of guy. First, what is up with his Donald Trump-like hair?
While I am fond of the fact that he no longer plays with diaper bags, he now has taken on a few new favorite items of pleasure. His newest favorite collection includes this 'Little Person', Thomas ("Ta"), and oddly enough two plastic ears of corn.
AJ also likes to read books. So much in fact he has destroyed every last binding of all the books we own.

These corns have been living the good life of of trips to the mall and snuggle sessions with our favorite little guy.

Potty Bootcamp!
Being trapped in your house for over a week makes you do crazy things! I figured since we weren't going anywhere any time soon I would put Ben through Potty Bootcamp.
There were three days of intense training. A timer would alarm Ben of his potty time every 15-20 minutes. To reward Ben he would receive a 'treat' after each successful attempt on the potty. Since I did not have M&Ms (or access to any) the first day, we rewarded him with Hershey's Kisses. And because I felt it was only appropriate to monitor his intake of sugar consumption, I ate 3 kisses for every 1 that he was rewarded. Needless to say, NEITHER of us got any sleep that night!
AJ mainly spent the time chasing Ben around and grabbing his butt since Thomas was planted firm and center on his underwear! Ben requested the 'cage' and I have to admit it was quite nice. The first day Ben loved being secluded from AJ with all the juice boxes, Goldfish, and pop-tarts he requested!
Ben realized that all these photo ops may come back to haunt him one day - he demanded "No photos going potty MOM!" in this one below.

With the exception of cleaning up multiple accidents, so far so good!

Snowlicious!
Here are more photos from the blizzard, and post blizzard snow!
Yes, and trying to sell our house in this mess has not been successful - I figure if you can't beat em, join em! This was taken before the BIG 2 feet we received.
We measured almost 25" but I think there was more!!
Seth worked VERY hard to clear our driveway, sidewalks, and porch out from the snow. He deserves something special. Like another 2 inches of snowfall they are calling for next week!!

Snowmaggedon
Woke up this morning and the power was out! We prepped by fueling for the day with donuts and cookies!
After a few hours, and fearful that my Mystic pizzas would be destroyed, I unloaded the fridge into bags to place out in the snow.

And so it begins...
Today they are calling for a MASSIVE, historic snow storm (blizzard!) in Northern Virginia. I decided to make one last mad dash to the store as I forgot some very important essentials yesterday. Namely- coffee, beer, and donuts (I have secretly already wolfed down two of those donuts while Ben wasn't looking).
Since I knew I was going to have a light load, I let the boys (for once) drive around the 'car' in the store (after thorough cleaning with my wipes). They appeared happy for about 2 minutes before the screaming and kicking began.
The rest of the shopping experience was spent restraining Ben from pulling products from the bottom shelf and keeping AJ from leaping from the upper cart. As I loaded my car the snow started falling and I narrowly escaped two collisions from idiots who were panicking at the thought of what was to come.
This one should be a doozie - the county has placed 4 foot posts on all the fire hydrants, marking their location.
Heaven help us, as I'm not sure I can handle another snowed in weekend!!

The calm before the storm
It snowed a few inches again last night. This is after we received 6 inches last weekend. And wouldn't you know it, the BIG storm is coming this weekend!
