Train Lines

Ben's newest obsession is building a line of trains. He will connect cars, animals, you name it. Every piece is intentionally and strategically placed as he calls out the name of each item when he connects it.


Some of his favorite placements are the 'driver', and Momma, Dadda, and Baby Duck.


When he is really impressed with himself he will pump his fists in the air and give himself a little "Woooo Woooo!" train whistle.

That is, it's all fun and games until AJ comes crawling over and destroys his creation.

Ben's First (trial) Day of School!!

Today I dropped Ben off at the Little Bear Preschool... a preschool run by a neighbor out of her home. We wanted to do just a one-day trial to see how he would do. Here are photos of his big day as we walked to her house!

Ben is TWO

Happy 2nd Birthday to our little Benny! It seems like just yesterday I was making his 1st birthday video! We love you!

Ben's Thomas Bash

Ben doesn't officially turn 2 until the 21st, but we celebrated his birthday on Friday with some of his closest pals! It wouldn't have been a party without Thomas, so that was the theme for this year's celebration. We chose JW Tumbles (Ben's favorite place) as the venue.


Ben prepped by donning his Thomas shirt and conductors hat. Even AJ tugging from behind couldn't stop Ben from watching Thomas the Train on TV.


Unfortunately I could not capture a photo of Ben in 'action' at JW Tumbles. He was so wound up from the lack of nap (he was so excited it was his birthday) that he had sweat dripping down his neck and was flushed from all the fun. He had a blast.

AJ played footsies with his gal pal Logan....

But then took off crawling in favor of a swing.

Ben was all smiles as we sang 'Happy Birthday' until he realized that HE was the birthday boy. I think he was a little embarrassed by being the center of attention.

Having milk, egg, and peanut free treats didn't seem to stop Mackenzie and Caleb from enjoying their treats!

All in all, it was a great day. Thanks to everyone for coming out to play!

Risky Business!

Crawling!

While AJ STILL is not eating solids, he is meeting at least SOME of his milestones! This weekend he really 'crawled' for the first time. Albeit, it was strictly out of desire to tear up some of Ben's toys!

Train Mania

This past weekend we escaped to West Virginia. While we were there we took the boys to the Joy Line Railroad and Toy Train Museum in Harpers Ferry.

Ben was a little skeptical of the train ride at first, but loved it in the end.


As always, Ben's favorite part of the trip was when he received a 'present' which was an antique Thomas Train. Also, we thank Sawyer for passing down his fabulous Thomas jacket that Ben proudly wore all weekend.

Let's hope MD has a better showing tonight and scores a few TDs. And if they don't, well, maybe we'll see more of Daddy this fall then ;-)

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Mommy is leaving the family (first time leaving all her boys behind for the night!) to go watch the Hokies hopefully defeat the Crimson Tide in Atlanta (it is a bit of a family rivalry as this is where Aunt Lindsey goes to school!) She already misses her boys but is happy knowing that Daddy has everything under control.


GO HOKIES!! And a special cheer for the Terps as they take on CAL this weekend too!
