Holiday Celebrations with the Boys!

We had some great celebrations with the boys at their school before the break.  Thomas got to join AJ at his preschool party while I popped over to Ben's K-Wild celebration!

Ben sang a great little jingle with his friends then we got to see the kids decorate the large spruce tree with bird feeders.

Later that afternoon I got to join Ben at his kindergarten class where we got ice cream sundaes!

Our CBS celebration was after the break, but still sweet as can be!!

Hello Mr. President!

Last week we had a tip that President Obama was going to be in Leesburg for a conference.  When I took the boys out in the morning I noticed police cars at every intersection surrounding our neighborhood and it was then I realized he was going to fly into Leesburg Airport and what his route would be to the conference center.  We were at home about to have lunch and when we heard the helicopters and I threw the boys in the car!!  Ben was in PJs, of course, and I forgot my shoes.  And my camera.  And Ben had to take a leak, which he did while parked next to some pretty important guys.

I did manage to capture a few fun pictures and video with my point and shoot, however!!

We waited a big and saw the motorcade come through while we were barricaded in the Walgreens parking lot.  After the procession was over two men peeked their heads in the car and offered each of the boys a special pin - it was then I realized they were the secret service!!!  We had a great time and its a memory the boys will never forget!!

Snowy Saturday

We've had a few snow storms this season, but nothing that has shown much accumulation.  The boys have been persistent in asking to go out and by the time we're able to do such the snow has melted.  Not today!  We had about 1/2 an inch (yup!) and I promised to take them out.  They were big helpers in shoveling the driveway...

Then we did a little sledding (in the neighbors yard)

And finished up with a few quick slips down the slippery slide.

AJ managed to slip pretty hard and land on his bum with a big thud.  But that didn't stop him from making a snow angel!!!

After a total of 20 minutes out in the snow (it took us longer to get geared up to go out) they enjoyed a nice cup of hot cocoa!

Ellicott City Train Museum

This past weekend we took the boys to the B&O Railroad museum in Ellicott City!  This is the oldest train station in all of America.

Thomas wanted to ring the bell (Ben & AJ weren't having it)

 Model trains - Thomas style!

They had a massive lego train display.  They had started working on this in August!

More N-Guage

Thomas keeping busy by running in and out of doorways....

It wouldn't be a Sinclair outing with at least a little 'treat' for the boys.  Ben claimed it was his favorite day EVER (he says this whenever he is given any sort of 'gift')

Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Disney - Part 3

The last day we went back to Magic Kingdom.  By now we were pretty used to the fears of restaurants (AJ refused any other park dinning experience after his terrifying experience at Hollywood Studios) and just took our time riding dumbo (another 20 times), the Barnstormer, and the Main Street Train.  We pleaded with them to ride Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain but after Seth and I rode them individually we realized it was better they refused.

By mid-afternoon we were dumbo-d out and were anxious to get home to Thomas (who loves balloons!!)

We hit up the gift shop on the way out (the boys favorite part of the trip - outside the monorail!!) and called our vacation a "learning experience".  Mickey left the boys some coloring books for the airplane that night (each night he left them a T-shirt to wear that day at the park) so that was fun too.

The good news is the boys did fabulous on our flights and earned their wings.  I hoping this new found experience will come in handy on our trip to the beach next year.... ahem, Seth!!  ;-)
