Living in Leesburg

This weekend it poured. Like, a lot. This afternoon the skies cleared up and we took advantage of some family time together by walking around downtown Leesburg.

Unfortunately the rain brought out the gnats and I wasn't able to get anyone to stop running around long enough to snap any clear shots.

The humidity did nothing for AJ's already frizzy hair - it should go without saying that he received lots of compliments as always!

There they are. The men in blue. The boys always seek an opportunity to get at each other. At least Daddy appears happy.

Seth and I couldn't be happier with our move - we really do love living in Leesburg and enjoy all it has to offer!

Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle

It seems like just yesterday that Ben was showing us his Wiggle Moves, but now we've got AJ strutting his stuff! Whenever AJ gets excited when we offer him a new food to try he does the 'Wiggle' and will often rub his tummy and say "MMMMMmmmm". AJ has come a long way with his feeding and while he still sucks down 36 ounces of formula a day he also now enjoys the finest of delicacies of french fries, crackers, and Cheetos. GO AJ!

Mommy's Helper

For those of you who do not already know, our new house has beautiful landscaping. In addition to lush greenery and flowers we have an English rose garden, vegetable garden and herb garden. I can only take credit for not yet killing any of these plants as the previous owner planted most everything. I take pleasure in making daily flower arrangements from the assortment of fresh flowers.

Last week I took Ben with me to Lowes for a few gardening items. I let him pick out some seeds to plant in our garden. He selected pumpkins and sunflowers. Yesterday I let him come out and help dig and plant what he thought were the seeds (they were actually pink jellybeans) - I had planted the seeds the previous day as I couldn't trust they'd ever grow otherwise!

Ben was so thrilled at the idea of digging and watering he decided to water just about every plant he could see... including the weeds!

Ben is excited to have his own sunflower collection just like Big Bird! We will post periodic updates of Ben's sunflowers and pumpkins if they ever decide to sprout!

A Soaking Wet Diaper

Last week the weather was fabulous and we broke out the pool. Owen and Grace came over for to partake in the fun. While we didn't expect the boys to actually get IN the pool, they soon jumped in before we had a chance to put on a swim diaper.

After several minutes their diapers ballooned to big fat jellyfish. It was a riot - here are a few photos, though they really do not do any justice of the true event.

If you only could have witnessed the hilarity of Ben running as fast as he could until the diaper just dropped down around his ankles.

Box Train!

It couldn't get much happier then this! Ben loved the super ghetto box train I made him. Ah, to be young again...

On a more random note, they seem to have the head tilt thing down pretty good....

Day Out With Thomas

The day we have all been [waiting] for. ;-)

While fun was had by all, I believe Ben enjoyed the real models more than Thomas.

Even amongst the craziness with kids running ever which way, I still had strangers comment to me "you've got your hands full".

Ben got to take a ride on 'Thomas' (really, a very slow moving coach car through Baltimore's finest showing of derelict vehicles) and got the conductor to punch his ticket.

He was a little skeptical at first, but in the end he earned his own 'Jr. Engineer Certificate'. As you see, he couldn't be any more thrilled (but could you blame him)!?

Of course it wouldn't be a Sinclair outing without hotdogs, chicken tenders, curly fries, pretzels, and nachos. Oh, and a clown that Ben wasn't too found of.

One of the highlights for Ben was driving this wooding thing that stood stationary in the blazing sun.

Ben loved watching the model Thomas go round - though there were no Annie & Claribel. The boys will never be this small again!

Oh James.

In the end it will be a well remembered trip for everyone.

60 seconds after leaving the parking lot!
