Feeding Therapy

Yesterday I took Andrew to a Occupational Therapist to address his feeding issues. With the exception of his thickened bottles he refuses all liquids, purees, and table foods. Based on initial evaluation he was diagnosed with Oropharlngeal Dysphagia. Additional tests will be required, and he is undergoing feeding therapy to address the concerns. Please keep the little guy in your prayers as we'd love for him to enjoy the fine delicacies of pizza, donuts, and Yoo-hoo like the rest of the family.

Cabin Fever

Well, we've decided to relist our house with the hopes of taking advantage of the low home prices and interest rates. Say a prayer this goes quickly, as keeping the house in showing condition is nearly impossible with these two little guys!

To avoid the masses, we went up to Nana's lake house last weekend. We took Ben back to the Harper Ferry train station for him to see the freight train pass through. This was a much different experience than last time when he saw just a passenger train. It was loud, and it was nothing like what he has seen on TV.

Despite the scare he was happy to place a penny on the train track and see the results after the train barreled through.

Let's hope this wasn't the kiss of death as Ben came down with a cold later that day.

Being cooped up has made everyone a little wacky... as seen in this random video. Sometimes you just have to do what it takes to get through the day.

Got A Boo-Boo!

Ben's newest obsession is that of his 'boo-boos'. He constantly feels the need to point out every scratch, nick, or crumb that he sees on himself and demands a Dora Band-Aid. The upside is that he should be thrilled tomorrow for the receipt of a Band-Aid after his 2nd administration of the H1N1 vaccine.

The Birthday Boy

Knowing that Seth may have to work late tomorrow, we made a split decision to celebrate Andrew's 1st birthday tonight. Let's just called this a failed attempt. Thankfully he will never have the pain of remembering this day or the horrible tune to our voices, though it will be documented forever in this blog.

As you can see, I baked some cupcakes for AJ. While he still isn't eating solid food (well, any food for that matter) I thought this may entice him for his first 'meal'. As you already witnessed, he wasn't very thrilled. Actually, he was appalled.

Ben, on the other hand, was lapping it up.

Earlier in the week I took Ben to the store and told him he could pick ANY balloon for AJ's birthday. You can imagine my horror when he selected this one- mostly because it was the largest and most expensive one they had!

AJ did, however, like his [unwrapped] present. While AJ was occupied, Ben took the liberty of opening the rest of his gifts from family. All in all, I give the birthday 'party' a D minus.
