Happy 4th! (Despite the heat!!)

July 4th we raced downtown to join the Celements in watching the 4th of July parade.  This really just consisted of political campaigns, butterscotch candy tosses, and our favorite, coupons for Ledo's Pizza!  It was super hot but "junk" got us by.  We finished up our evening at Nana's and Grandpas with a cool dip in the pool!

Summer... Is it over yet???

I never remember summer being... well, so disastrous!!

I'm not sure if its the lack of structure, the heat, or if my kids are eating too much Cap'n Crunch but they have turned into little monsters!! We've been keeping busy (on days that they aren't destroying the house) by going to the playground, hitting up open play times at area facilities, playing outdoors in the pool, and driving hours on end to no where to kill time.  While the boys don't necessarily deserve all of these fun adventures we also are going nuts being cooped up indoors all day long!  Today we took them to Fairfax to ride the train and play in the fountains.  This was only after housing a filthy lunch (Sinclair style).

VBS - A first "like" for Ben!

A few weeks ago we enrolled Ben in Vacation Bible School (the theme was SKY).  It was held at St. David's.  He absolutely loved it!  I think having his buddy Owen in his class  helped a bunch.  This was a first for Ben in terms of being excited about an activity (preschool and other camps haven't been his thing - even having AJ with him).  He was sad to see it end and we're excited for next years VBS experience!!

The Stars Have Aligned (or are at least trying to!)

We've had a big month here at the Sinclair's!!  In the past two weeks Thomas has started walking (though he still prefers to crawl) and finally dropped his morning nap (that was a hellacious few months getting over THAT!)  He's also outgrown the milk intolerance (HOORAY!) and has just transitioned off Elecare to whole milk.

Video of Thomas showing his newly found skills - Frankenstein style!

With our vacation only a few weeks away I'm praying Thomas finishes his teething (he's getting the last of his four teeth in now) and also transitions off his antacid medications.  Wishful thinking I know, but honestly I couldn't be happier with the progress we have made around here.  Thomas eats a variety of foods I couldn't have imagined possible and enjoys to self feed (read: cover himself in food from head to toe).

Today Thomas had his 15 month checkup and we're happy to see our little munchkin is growing up!  He's getting meatier and now weighs in at 23 lbs (30th percentile) and is 31.5 inches tall (65 percentile).
